Lamborghini unveils Huracan LP 610-4 luxury super sports car

Lamborghini does it again. After the release of the Veneno now comes a replacement for the Lamborghini Gallardo.

According to online.wsj.com:

MILAN—Automobili Lamborghini SpA Friday took the wraps off the Huracan LP 610-4, the Italian auto maker’s carbon-fiber and aluminum successor to the Gallardo that will compete in the small and increasingly crowded market for luxury sports cars.

The company explains the name “Huracán” as “the fighting bull Huracán of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed was known for his outstanding courage and strong sense of attack.”

The Huracán is referred to as a “luxury sports car” and not a “supercar”, which somehow conveys that the automaker is not out to market this car as a hardcore replacement to the Gallardo. At first glace, The Huracán looks like an updated Gallardo, with simplified wedge shaped details, different door handle, wider and lower appearance.

Here are some more features of The HuracánL

  • full LED illumination headlamps
  • state of the art LEDs on all other lights
  • cockpit inspired by the Aventador but slightly more angular
  • 12.3 inch full-color TFT instrument panel
  • interiors of fine Nappa leather and Alcantara
  • black on silver color scheme (with red or yellow stitching)
  • “Longitudinale Posteriore,” hinting at longitudinally mounted amidships
  • hybrid chassis of carbon and aluminum elements
  • lightweight 3,134 pound curb weight
  • 610 horsepower
  • 5.2-liter V-10 engine
  • torque at 413 pound-feet
  • fuel economy at 12.5 liters per 100 km
  • fully electronically controlled four-wheel drive system
  • Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (LDF), new 7-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox
  • 3 modes to choose from:  Strada, Sport and Corsa, from mildest to wildest
  • carbon-ceramic brakes

The public debut of The Lamborghini Huracán is set to be at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show and the luxury sports cars are set to be available in Spring 2014.  lamborghini-huracan-leak-5-1
