Stand Out in a NeonShell
BMW, known for their production of luxury German automobiles, motorcycles and engines, is also well known for their chic and sleek apparel designs. They have a long standing line of outstanding high visibility wear, including 2015’s newest addition, the BMW NeonShell jacket. You’re sure to stand out in this brilliant “urban jacket”, whether you’re cruising on a motorcycle or walking down the street.
“BMW Motorrad’s NeonShell jacket was designed with urban motorcycling in mind and is perfectly suitable for summer, spring and fall.” – BMW Motorcycle
The sturdy, yet flexible and comfortable, outer shell is fashionable but incredibly visible, for a casual appearance that still safe. The day-glow outer sleeves and panels are meticulously stitched to the sharp gray body and sleeves, for a look that isn’t consumed by the neon color. A special blend of Cordura, consisting of 35% cotton, is used for a waxy water-repellent finish. Unlike fabrics made from pure Cordura, this jacket is soft and pleasant to touch, but still abrasion-resistant. BMW chose a modern sporty cut for this jacket, and the tailoring makes for a short style that sits comfortably just below the waist while moving comfortably with the wearer.
When the weather favors the cold, NeonShell has you covered. The removable padded insert is plush and easy to use. The 100% hydrophilic polyurethane C.A.R.E. Climate membrane is composed of polyester insulation and ventilated windproof fabric, keeping you warm when temperatures dip below 50. Add the BMW Heated vest underneath and you’ll be extra warm and toasty in winter. Finishing off with a storm flap covering the primary zipper, this jacket is virtually element proof. BMW NeonShell will keep you comfortable in temperatures ranging from the 40s to high 80s. The jacket comes in both men and women styles, and well as a regular fit.
You won’t find a safer or more luxurious addition to your motorcycle wardrobe anywhere else. The neon parts are specially woven with a polyamide polyester fabric mix, that resists excessive abrasion. The jacket includes NP L protection pads in the shoulders, elbows, and back, all of which are removable. The fabric is also engineered to be as color-fast as it is steadfast, though it is recommended owners reapply the BMW waterproofing agent after long trips in the rain or after washing. It will ensure your jacket continues to repel water and remains bright.
All the trimmings are just as fancy. The two snap breast pockets are generous and easy to access, but secure. The zippered stash pockets on the exterior will hold all your other belongings with care. The coat includes a handy Napoleon pocket on the inside, and, if that wasn’t enough, there is also a waterproof pocket in the insert for your most precious items. Completing the look, on the left shoulder, is a pocket affixed with the BMW logo. You can adjust the sleeves with the Velcro cuff adjusters or the three different snap positions. Plus, the collar can be fastened down with the studs located on either side. There is also a zipper placed at the lower back that will connect to most BMW brand pants. Finally, the trim is luxuriously bordered for a napped leather appearance.
This fabulous fluorescent coat starts out at about $529, and comes in eight variations. You can get yours from either the BMW motorcycle or the BMW Motorrad website.
