Usher in the Chinese New Year with limited edition Year of the Horse luxe pieces
Even though there have been reports of the slowing down of luxury market in China, brands are still chiming in with the welcoming of the Year of the Horse this coming Chinese New Year. Check out some of the luxury items bearing the horse theme:

It’s the 2nd year that Bloomingdale’s will be joining the celebration of Chinese New Year. This year, select Bloomingdale’s will be ringing in the Year of the Horse with unique pop-up shops, merchandise, special events, and cultural presentations from January 10 – February 15, 2014. Some of the exclusive items include the Carmen Marc Valco Couture red chinchilla jacket and Bloomingdale’s reusable tote bag.
Longchamp Le Pliage Limited Edition Year of the Horse
Longchamp Le Pliage Year of the Horse edition will only be showcased at Bloomingdale’s and select Longchamp retail stores. It comes in red and black canvas, with detachable shoulder straps and Platinum-toned patent cowhide Horse.
Carolina Herrera Year of the Horse Matryoshka bag
The special limited edition bag is made of red goya leather and has a gold horse design in one corner.
Jaquet Droz watches
Jaquet Droz produces Chinese New Year watch annually. For 2014, the company came up with not one but three watch designs in its Ateliers d’Art series:
- Petite Heure Minute 39mm with two hand-painted Arab thoroughbreds at full gallop on an ivory enamel dial
- Petite Heure Minute 43mm with a sculpted wild mustang in red and gold engraved bas-relief black dial
- Petite Heure Minute 41mm with 18k red gold horse and the Great Wall of China on a mother-of-pearl dial.
The watches will be limited to 88 pieces each, complete with red and gold cases fit for the Chinese New Year of course.
Vacheron Constantin “The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac”
Métiers d’Art collection
Vacheron revealed two watches (pink gold and platinum) inspired by Jianzhi or Chinese paper cutting. The watches are limited to 12 pieces each and only available at Vacheron Constantin boutiques.
Chopard L.U.C XP Urushi Horse
The Japanese art of Urushi was the inspiration for the special edition 2014 watch which features a prancing horse and lotus flowers. The timepiece is ultra thin at 39.5mm diameter and 6.8 mm thickness.
