Passengers are invited to step back in time and enjoy the luxurious age of the train in a series of excursions from Sheffield.

Travel firm Orient-Express has announced its programme of railway trips for 2014, with a number of South Yorkshire departures for its Northern Belle train.

The Northern Belle has been raved about all over the web for being very exquisite and a must-try. It is said to have the style of England’s 1930’s ‘Belle’ trains combined with the Pullman carriages of its sister company Venice Simplon-Orient Express.

Travel destinations include London, the Lake District and Edinburgh, to name a few.

June 28 Edinburgh Excursion – with off-train options like a city tour and visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia and Edinburgh Castle
September 12 Lake District trip – options for Windermere cruise or a trip to Beatrix Potter’s house
November 8 London Excursion – wine tasting, trip to the London Eye, Shard skyscraper and a West End show
September 14 Round Trip – includes Mad Hatter’s Tea Party
December 19 Round Trip – includes Christmas lunch

The excursions include brunch with bellini and dinner with wine or champagne while round trips cover afternoon tea.
