Samsung’s 4K TV is as big a your bed costs over $150,000

In early 2013, Samsung came out with the 85-inch 4K TV with a whopping $40,000 price tag. This television was criticized for being very expensive. But did that stop Samsung? Of course not. Instead, the technology giant released an even bigger television with a steeper price tag to boot.

According to techland.time.com:

If Samsung’s $40,000 TV wasn’t expensive enough for you, the company has just launched an even larger television for nearly four times the price.

On Monday, Samsung began selling a 4K TV (that’s a resolution of 3840-by-2160) with a 110-inch screen. Samsung says it’s roughly as large as a king-sized bed. The price, according to the Associated Press, is roughly $152,000.

Right now, the Samsung 4K UHD TV is only available in South Korea but Samsung has said that it will soon be launched in China, Europe and the Middle East. This ultra HD TV has 4x the resolution of the standard high definition television.

It could be recalled that Samsung and LG Electronics were last year’s top two TV makers of the world who boldly came out with ultrathin OLED screens as the future of television. However, the OLED failed to make it to the mainstream and it was more costly to make. The release of the Samsung 110-inch TV is seen to trigger the possible rise in demand for U-HD TV, especially in China.

The 110-inch TV seems ridiculously expensive but it is not the most expensive one on record. Panasonic’s 152-inch 4K TV retailed for $500,000 and the C Seed outdoor television with 201-inch screen was priced at $650,000.
