The word is out, the most expensive hotel suite in New York City is the Ty Warner Penthouse at the Four Seasons New York.
Named after the American business tycoon who created the Beanie Baby, the Ty Warner Penthouse is the highest hotel penthouse in the city (over 240 m above the street) and the most expensive at $40,000 for one night.
According to nypost.com:
Ty Warner Penthouse at the Four Seasons New York on East 57th Street near Madison Avenue features panoramic views of the city, a grand piano and a 24-hour on-call butler, according NewYorkHotels.org, which compiled the list.
The nine-room suite comes complete with cathedral ceilings, use of a Rolls-Royce — and chauffeur.
The penthouse suite took 7 years and $50 million to build. The other luxe features of the 400 square meter suite are:
- 56-square-metre master bedroom
- one marble bathroom and one guest powder room
- four glass balconies
- semi-precious stones in the bathroom
- a grand piano
- calfskin leather walls in the dressing room
- semi-precious stones in the Zen room waterfall
- 18-century Japanese silk pillows
- hand-lacquered walls with mother-of-pearl inlay
- rich walnut, afrormosia and Mexican sycamore wood in the spa room
- Mexican travertine stone floors in the breakfast room
- private elevator
- an art concierge
- a personal trainer
- all-inclusive access to the Spa and dining venues
- unlimited international telephone calls
