At the towering height of 1,004 feet, One57 is the tallest residential building in all of New York. Developed by Gary Barnett’s Extell, the building formerly called Carnegie57 has 95 condos, a yoga studio, a pet grooming room and an arts and crafts atelier. Designed by French Pritzker Prize-winning architect Christian de Portzamparc and interiors by Thomas Juul-Hansen did the interiors, the building also hosts the flagship Park Hyatt New York, complete with its health club and spa.

South Bank Tower, London, UK

South Bank Tower used to be a 30-storey building designed in 1972 by Sir Richard Seifert. Upon acquisition by CIT, the building was redesigned by Khn Pedersen Fox Associates and turned it into a 41-storey building with 191 luxury spaces. South Bank Tower offers great panoramic views of the city,including the London Eye. The penthouse is due to be finished in 2015 and it is said to be a triplex with two roof terraces.

Tour Odeon is foreseen to be the tallest building in Monaco at 550 feet once it is completed in the second quarter of this year. It towers over the area including the Mediterranean sea. There is no doubt that Lupita Nyong’o deserves all the great things she is garnering these days. After her award-winning performance in 12 Years A Slave, the actress goes on a luxurious staycation in New York.

Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone lists NYC Apartment for $3M

Three-time Academy Award-winner Oliver Stone apparently needs more space and has decided to sell the New York apartment that he purchased for $2.2 Million while shooting Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” in 2010.

According to realtytoday.com:

Oliver Stone, the award-winning movie director, has reportedly put his Manhattan apartment up for sale with a $2.9 million price tag. The residence is also available for rent for $13,000 a month, according to several news reports.

The plush Manhattan apartment was once featured in Architectural Digest, highlighting its interiors inspired by the nautical theme. The current colors of the luxe apartment are red, white and blue, giving it more of a patriotic feel, designed by no less than Geoffrey Bradfield. The original concept that Bradfield had in mind was a “yacht on the Mediterranean”, which is why there are yacht-like floors of cherry, nautical rope motif on the living room rug and window-seat cushions.

Jay-Z and Barneys collaborate for a luxury holiday collection

When he is not so busy with his music or spending family time with Queen Bey and Blue Ivy, Jay-Z can be seen showing his proud New Yorker side and helping promote education as well.

According to mixmag.net:

Fashion is doing its bit for charity as Jay-Z teams up with luxury department store Barneys New York to create a limited quantity of pieces in which a quarter of sales will go towards the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.

Aptly named ‘A New York Holiday’, the collection consists of various items from celebrated luxury brands and designers to represent New York’s culture and lifestyle. The color palette for the opulent merchandise is black, white, silver and gold.

A teaser of the collection has been put up at the Barneys website and some of the big names that collaborated with Mr. Carter are Balenciaga, Balmain, Lanvin, The Elder Statesman, En Noir, Hoorsenbuhs, Just Don (coming soon!), Proenza Schouler, Rick Owens,Stutterheim, Acne Studios, and Cutler & Gross.

On the Barneys website, Jay-Z shares “With this project, Barneys New York and I were able to take the slickness, energy, and innovation of New York City and translate that into quality, timeless pieces.”

A New York Holiday will be available starting November 20.
